In thinking today I can only think of the wonderful things that surround me you only find in an old vintage home...i.e. my Grandma Rhoda's home....
Such as...The beauty of pocket doors...
The vintage paned door...I have these in the entrances of my living room and office..which in its time I'm sure was the fancy sitting room.
Vintage hardware...nothing better...
Just the beauty of the vintage door..It is all the original finish..This is the door separates my dining room from hallway.
And the beautiful built in's you only get from the vintage era...Check the hardware out on the buffet...
The beauty of the built in china hutches on both sides of my buffet....All original finish.
To the kitchen....the kitchen nook and its magnificence....It is probably my most favorite treasure in Grandma's house....
The intricate kitchen table....
and the ironing board all tucked away in its cubby.....only at Grandma's....
The original old wooden ironing board.....
More doors...My red front door.......
There is something wonderful about vintage screen doors...They are everywhere around me...
Inside and out....
A look from the kitchen through dining room, pocket doors into the living room....
It's all a beautiful gift from Grandma Rhoda......
A Friend from the Heart :)
oh I so love your house! I think it is just awesome it was your Grandma's! It really is great. I'm also glad you love the original parts and didn't gut it and start over. Your home is a true treasure!

I love it, and what memories! Old houses just have so much more character than newer houses. Yours is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Jackie

I used to dream of living in my Grandmother's house. I was too young and just starting my adult life when she sold it. But she had all the original dark wood, built-in bookcases, heavy french doors. I loved it all and still miss it to this day. You are so fortunate to live in the house with memories of your grandmother in every room!

Lisa,
How blessed you are to live in your grandma's home! If you go to my blog you will see that I nasmed it in honor of my grandparents and the address where they lived. There is a post about there home also....I almost got a chance to buy it! But I am not giving up! I so want to refurbish it with the love I have for them and their wonderful home away from home....Thanks for sharing this with me!
